Job Title: Program Coordinator
Location: Raleigh, NC
Employment Type: Full-time
Salary Range: $50-60,000, depending on experience
About Us: Triangle Native American Society (TNAS) was founded in 1984 to promote and protect the identity of Native Americans living in Wake, Johnston, Durham, Orange, and Chatham counties by providing educational, social, and cultural programs. TNAS was incorporated as a non-profit tax-exempt organization in 1985, and was granted official state recognition in 2000 to serve as the official governing body for the Native American population in the Triangle area.

Job Overview: The Program Coordinator will play a crucial role in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of TNAS programs, projects, and events. This individual will work closely with the Executive Director, TNAS Board, and contractors to ensure the successful execution of program activities, manage relationships with key stakeholders, and contribute to the overall impact of the organization.
Priority Job Skills Required:
Proven experience in American Indian community programming (professional or volunteer); active involvement in, and significant knowledge of NC American Indian community
Excellent communications skills - written and verbal
Eye-catching, high-quality visual design skills for flyers, social media, newsletter, etc.
Confidence in frequent writing, editing, and print/social media for detailed event communications
Tech-savvy, proficient in website management, Canva/design tools, social media, survey tools, digital event registration, MS Office, hosting virtual meetings, etc.
Ability to independently travel to and set up for events around the Triangle and beyond
Confidence and ease in representing TNAS through public speaking at large events, phone conversations and meetings with new and existing partners, in-person and virtual gatherings
Additional skills preferred:
Years of experience working with nonprofit programming and community engagement (professional or volunteer)
Knowledge of program management and development procedures
Experience with grants management and reporting
Experience coordinating volunteers and groups
Ability to work with diverse and multi-disciplinary teams
Excellent time-management and organizational skills
Detail-oriented and efficient
Bachelor’s degree or multiple years of relevant professional experience
Responsibilities
Program and Event Coordination:
Support the planning and coordination of TNAS programs, events, and activities in accordance with the Executive Director, Board, contractors, partners, and volunteers
Represent TNAS at in-person events local and statewide - independently and as a team
Schedule and organize meetings and events, in-person and virtual, maintain agendas and utilize technology for seamless operations as needed
Coordinate and manage volunteer teams at TNAS events
Ensure the implementation of policies and practices for successful programs
Manage program activities within budget constraints and track expenditures
Note: Some travel is required - local travel around the Triangle is expected daily/weekly, as well as statewide travel and occasional out-of-state travel on behalf of TNAS
Communication and Outreach:
Manage communications through various channels including TNAS newsletter, social media, and other platforms
Create eye-catching, high-quality visual designs for flyers, social media, and newsletters
Confidently write detailed event communications weekly to engage TNAS audiences
Assist in marketing and outreach efforts to the TNAS community
Represent TNAS in in-person and online communications
Project Management and Partnership Development:
Effectively manage multiple community programs and projects simultaneously, working independently and as a team to ensure successful outcomes
Cultivate positive relationships within the team and with external partners
Assist in the identification and preparation of grants and funding opportunities
Administrative Support:
Prepare paperwork, information for reports, and keep updated records
Contribute to the preparation of grants and funding opportunities, as well as grant reports
Ensure technology is used correctly for all operations, including video conferencing and presentations
