What is Digital Equity?

Digital Equity refers to the activities necessary to ensure that all individuals and communities, including the most disadvantaged, have access to information and the knowledge to operate and understand digitalized technology.

Such digital inclusion may include:

  • Affordable, broadband internet services

  • Internet-enabled devices that meet the needs of the user

  • Digital literacy training

  • Technical support

  • Content designed to enable and encourage self-sufficiency, participation and collaboration

How Can Triangle Native American Society Ensure Digital Equity?

Through our partnership with one of our sponsors, the National Urban Indian Family Coalition (NUIFC), we have been recommended of the services provided by TechSoup.

TechSoup is essentially an online on-demand self-paced course that will allow members the access to enhance their basic and advanced learning skills from Office Apps, Adobe, and others, to courses specifically for NPOs like Grant-Writing and Social Media Marketing.

The courses provided for TechSoup are generally affordable at very low prices, and the courses may range from one hour to eight hours depending on the skill level and material of each course.

We are working more towards digital equity in our community going forward in the future, as we understand how important understanding the digital age can be for all ages and backgrounds alike.
